Personally, Swimwear and Jewelry are connected in my mind because any jewelry I’ve ever owned has been lost while swimming. Johanna Methusalemsdottir, however, has a much more elegant and profound take on the connection. Her Kria latest Jewelry collection — the Aquarian Collection — explores water quite beautifully. She tells us the decision to pair with Swimslow was a natural one: “The Earth is actually transitioning from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian. Because this is the Aquarian Collection, it naturally made sense to shoot it near water and use forms drawn from things which live in or around it.” As for the specific brand of swimwear, fellow Icelandic design outfit Swimslow had caught Kria’s eye since their recent inception: “We have been a fan of Swimslow since they started not too long ago. They are clever, their swimsuits are flattering, and they are an environmentally conscious brand which we really respect and are proud to work with.”

Regular readers may recognize model Heather Golden from our feature on her folk Duo, Beau. Methusalemsdottir tells us, she and Golden go all the way back to Golden’s teenage years. “I have known Heather since she was a young teenager as she is an old friend of my daughter, India. We really like to work with people we consider special and talented who have the right personality. She is a very talented musician and I have always loved her voice, and she has a unique look and absolutely the best disposition. The water was pretty cold!”

As always the Elisabet Davids captures the designs in their natural setting with her unique sense of the sublime.
