There’s nothing like the feeling of cracking open a new Alissa Bennett zine fresh from the press and finding out what bits of salaciousness Bennett has deeply immersed herself in this time around. For the uninitiated, “immersed” doesn’t mean she did a ton of research or went down a “Google hole”; it means she reports back to you the reader on her deeply personal involvement with a shady character who has done even shadier things (and also Paula Abdul).

Bennett’s zines are the only zines I stop my day to read, and now there are three of them. This third edition is entitled Bad Behavior, and it continues the evolution of the Bennett voice that began with Dead is Better and was elaborated on in Legalize Crime. The melange of ne’er-do-wells and no-goodniks once again includes a mix of the savage and the tragic, the famous and the infamous. Bennett takes a stroke at Dana Plato; Milli Vanilli finally get the full attention they deserve after all these years. Then there are total freakfest cases that you might be less aware of. For example, if you’re just planning on giving the zine a quick glance, linger for a moment over Kiki Kannibal’s crazy notebook drawing republished here, and see if you don’t get sucked into the whole thing. It will be well worth your time.
