Earlier this month Ravelin hit the joint showcase for sympatico New York labels Terrorbird, Cascine & Northside records at Union Pool. The show presented the audience with variety but also a glimpse at what future sounds will coalesce into. Featured at the show was TEEN, the almost eponymous project led by Teeny Lieberson that was birthed in a Connecticut barn and grew up with help from such luminaries as MGMT and Sonic Boom. Yumi Zouma also strode the boards on the Union Pool stage. The New Zealand-based atmospheric sound system brought their ethereal electronic to life on stage. CSLSX, the third band on the bill, is similarly electronic, but the Philly-based band has a slightly more throwback vibe to their groove heavy sound. The room was intimate yet jammed packed, and the vibe was pure party.
