Like all the best assemblages of a genre, there was a seemingly exhaustive variety of interpretations of what a dirty book can be available at the Dirty Book Fair. Everything from the erotic to work that seemed less intent on giving pleasure was represented. The media spanned from photography to illustrations to drawings; there were fetishes and whatever the opposite of a fetish is — a dichotomy which begs the questions, isn’t everything libidinous some sort of fetish?

Organized by Matthew Leifheit, the event took place in Greenpoint at the Point Green Studio and will be an annual affair. Possibly the most apt inclusion for a fair entitled “Crushed” was Lindsay Dye, whose cake sitting GIFs are included below and explain themselves quite well. Olimpia Dior was in attendance and picked out some of her favorite zines for those who couldn’t make it to this year’s fair.
